    RWIS Release 2.1.1

    5/8/2018

    The latest version of RWIS is now available!

    Release 2.1.1 is a patch release deploying seven bug fixes and making minor updates to site content. Bug fixes include changes to query page error messages to be compatible with mobile devices, adding the figure title and parameter units to downloadable plots, and fixing the map menu to open and close with a single click. The release also includes removal of non-Reclamation sites in Great Plains Region and corrections to site metadata for two Pacific Northwest Region sites previously listed as Great Plains Region. Site content changes include adding the April monthly update, and adding two announcements.     RWIS Release 2.1.0

    3/14/2018

    The latest version of RWIS is now available!

    Release 2.1.0 is a minor release incorporating minor enhancements and bug fixes. Enhancements include the replacement of the existing text- and image-based CAPTCHA with a 508 compliant CAPTCHA test and the addition of keywords to improve the ability of search engines to find the site. The release also includes a fix to three site location coordinates, the addition of a link to the RWIS home page in the site breadrumbs, and standardization of the favicons that appear in browser tabs.     1/25/2018

    The latest version of RWIS is now available!

    Highlights of RWIS Release 2.0 include the addition of data for the full period of record rather than only from 2010 and visualization demos.     RWIS Release 1.1.0

    The latest version of RWIS is now available!

    Highlights of RWIS Release 1.1.0 include improvements to the RWIS WaterML2 and JSON output formats, improvements to the query user interface, the addition of a zip archive to download the entire RWIS dataset, and the addition of API documentation and demos. This announcements section and a page for monthly updates on the project team’s activities were also added to provide information about RWIS project activities and system development.     RISE Kick Off

    The RISE Team is in Denver this week for two days of working meetings. We will be discussing the approach to the various aspects of the project, including IT infrastructure needs, data storage considerations, development of data domain communities for water, environment, hydropower, and infrastructure/assets,and identification of strategies for sustaining the system.

    Transitioning from RWIS to RISE

    6/1/2017

    Building upon the the success of the RWIS pilot project, the RWIS team has taken on a new challenge to transform RWIS into a full-featured, sustainable system for sharing Reclamation’s data in open formats. The first phase of the Reclamation Information Sharing Environment (RISE) is planned to include water data as well as environmental, hydropower, and infrastructure/assets. The new system will feature enhanced functionality and performance of the data portal while continuing to provide access to datasets in open formats.

    RWIS has launched

    4/28/2017

    The Reclamation Water Information System (RWIS) has launched at https://water.usbr.gov. Users can now access water-related time series datasets via a map interface and query tool.

All data are provisional and subject to revision unless otherwise noted. Not all sites, parameters, and data types are currently available through RWIS. Future improvements to the site will add a broader range of data and improve functionality. If you do not find the data or functionality you need, please submit a request to rwis@usbr.gov.
